Katherine Fritz
Managing Director

Katherine Fritz (she/her) is a Philadelphia-based teaching artist specializing in theatrical design and creative writing. Her costumes have been seen on Philadelphia and regional stages for over a decade, earning her Barrymore Award nominations and critical acclaim. As a writer, her words have appeared in The New York Times, the Washington Post, American Theatre Magazine, and in a regular column at MTV Style. Her blogs I Am Begging My Mother Not To Read This Blog and Ladypockets have been read by millions and led to appearances on National Public Radio. She is a 2017 Nominee for the F. Otto Haas Award for an Emerging Theatre Artist, and a recent creative resident at SPACE on Ryder Farm, where she completed her first play for young audiences.

Katherine is an adjunct professor at the University of the Arts and Temple University, and works regularly with the award-winning educational programs at McCarter Theatre Center. Ask her about that time she raised $72,000 for charity, thanks to Rachel Maddow and the internet.

Katherine is enthusiastic, bubbly, and kind. She loves being the “camp mom” of this remarkable program, and cares deeply about the educators she hires, the young people she mentors, and every child who experiences camp at WCU.
